Making a neck facing, step one:
Take the piece you cut out from the neck of the garment (in this case two pieces) and lay it out on a piece of paper. I use either brown butcher's paper or the smooth white paper that usually goes on medical exam room tables (both are very cheap). You could also use the pattern tracing paper that most fabric stores sell, but it is much more expensive.
You will need to get a straight edge of some sort and a pencil for the next step.
