This is me. I was cast as Agatha, sort of... Well really I was a traveler from another dimention. Dr. Helen Narbon, Gentlewoman Adventurer, pleased to meet you. (That would be Victorian Helen from Narbonic for those of you not in the know.) I was also, a dead ringer for Agatha, because Dr. Narbon was her equivalent in the other world. Yes, this caused a lot of confusion.

The most annoying part of this confusion was out of character. When I was first given my character hint, I was told that I was Victorian Helen and given a link to one of Garrity's Victorian Helen comics. So off I went trying to get that together. About a week before the con, I got my full character sheet, which included the fact that when Helen showed up at the Circus, they mistook her for Agatha and forced her to wear some of their "quaint peasant garb". ARGH!

So I scavenged what I could (skirt, shirt, glasses, boots) and went on to create the vest based on the sorts of clothing folks in Master Payne's Circus wear. Most of the materials actually came from a previous attempt to create Agatha's costume from this comic (that one was for something entirely different and was aborted very early on). Considering that I radically altered the pattern I was using and created the vest in less than one day, I think I did pretty well. All joking about "lurid circus colors" aside, I hope I at least gave the right feel with this costume given my time constraints.

I think only one person recognized the glasses. I found this hilarious.

If you haven't read Narbonic. Go do so right now! It's all free now! :)
